Need Help Developing Live MP3 Encoder

Postby guyman » Fri Mar 02, 2018 8:33 pm

Hello, I'd like to develop a live LAME mp3 encoder as a vst. Similar to LameVst or ozone 7's codec preview functionality. It would be awesome to have this feature to preview codecs, change the variable bitrate at will as an effect, or build it into a synth. The problem with these other vsts is that they are not realtime, or even near realtime. other types of degraders do not accomplish this effect, as the LAME algorithm has a particular sound. Is it possible to build a vst that does this at very low levels of latency, and if so can we do it in flowstone??
