Need some help.

Postby Halon » Sun May 19, 2019 6:56 am

Good morning.

Im having trouble with the filter in my current synth project.

When modulating the filter cutoff with either the envelope, lfo or the modwheel there is a 'pop' sound and then the sound gets muted. Ive no idea what causes that so im hoping some of you could have a look at the schematic ?

Cheers.

EDIT:

Removed the schematic since Martin helped me.

One of the Moog filters has no Cutoff Range Check. Copy it from the other Moog filter and you'll be fine. ;)

... and the only filter that I have in the toolbox has already the Cutoff Range Check but the pops stay there...

Those pops occur when the cutoff goes down quickly, for example, when using an ascending ramp to modulate the cutoff. On the contrary, when the cutoff goes up quickly, no pops. For example, when modulating with a saw (that is, a descending ramp), all sound ok.
any idea to solve it?

MV's Moog Filter

I took the opportunity to implement a ZDF Moog filter. Should be OK for fast modulation. You may use it without limitation.

Cheers!

Wow - the level of this drops like crazy as soon as any Res is applied - did the hardware Moogs really behave that way; I know they did drop, but this much?

Need some help

Postby mrRandallVen » Wed Jan 01, 2020 2:12 pm

I am new to building hexapods but I would like to build one. What is a good microcontroller to use with a hexapod? I have some experience building quadcopters4 motored rc helicopter. I dont know if that experience could help me though. Any tips on how to build a hexapod are appreciated. Thanks

It is a property of the particular circuit topology. However,if it bothers you it can be easily compensated, refer to updated post above.
