Here's another interesting summation (no pun intended) of what's going on here.

Notice the last statement....
"Sinusoidal multiplication can therefore be expressed as an addition (which makes sense because all signals can can be represented by the sum of sinusoids)."

If you want to actually MULTIPLY 2 frequencies together, the circuit you want is a "Ring Modulator".

Ring Modulator addendum....
If you multiply two signals together in a ring modulator, you get the sum and difference of the two frequencies, with both carrier and program completely suppressed !
The demostrator comes with 1,000 Hz and 400 Hz. preset.
You can adjust the frequencies as well.
And the hookup is Dead Simple !
