Great tool for File/Folder Deletion..

Postby billv » Fri Nov 15, 2013 3:40 am

In the course of de-bugging a virus, I needed to delete
Suspicious files, and got some ‘access denied” shit…so
Went for a search…found an absolutely incredible little
Tool….feels like xmas came early…. :D

“Unlocker”
http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/
This little bugger will un-lock any file, so it can be
renamed and deleted.
It even deleted my “RECYCLER” folder,
and I’ve been trying for years to clean that section out.

Great thing too is during install it provides an option
To put Unlocker in your ‘right-click”menu….
So you you can go hunting and process dodgy files
On the spot when you find them…
It has not failed once to process a file/folder…. :!:

Yep. I use it for years.

There are also helpers for Windows copy/paste/move operations, so you can pause or filter better when overwriting or manage transfer (and measure real transfer).

I always wonder why such tools are not present by default in the system.

They are not that bad.

Any world wide big company is being considered as "bad", because nobody (i.e. ordinary web people with expectations) likes global domination. On the other hand - without global domination - market is fragmented. If I had option to select between operating systems (MacOS or whatever names they use for laptops/desktops, Win, Linux, iOS, Android, etc) - I would pick Windows (98, XP, 7). It's simple - more tools that I use and not that bad stability & performance, better compatibility with others around me (we are MS region here). If I would want more, then I would end up with less tools and problems more difficult to solve without knowledge or someone to ask.

I've no sympathy for them as a corporation bent on monopoly, but the programmers you have to feel some sympathy for - summed up nicely here...
