Who made this brilliant piece of music?

Nostalgia: The first songs I ever heard were from old 45 rpm record singles my father had collected. Mostly swing and rock from the 40s/50s. One song that impressed me very much was "Sixteen tons", in the version of Ernie Ford: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIfu2A0ezq0
It is a song written by Merle Travis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pfVvqLM_e4

A week or so ago, I stumbled upon a hoax. It was showing Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top and Jeff Beck supposedly playing "Sixteen Tons". Actually it was footage from them performing "Foxy Lady", edited to fit. The story is quite funny, because they both saw the video later and decided that they could do such a version and played it in that arrangement on following gigs. But they were horrible. Really, it was crap.

However, the original cover in that hoax video is just brilliant! Energetic and straight, the best hardrock cover of "Sixteen Tons", I ever heard!

So, please, close your eyes, when listening to the following link, to not let you get distracted by the wrong footage. Enjoy this version - and then tell me who is the author!

It is unknown until today, but I can't believe that nobody ever heard it anywhere else than in that video. It is brilliantly played, mixed and mastered, it must be known to someone!
