I have spoken to Malc yesterday and he is going to add me as a moderator (doesn't look to have yet).

Hi Exo,

Read many of your SM posts. Great to have you here at FS 8-)

Hope we can know something about current development, especially 64 bit that is going to be relevant.
At least for me, or i had to switch now to Max or Faust or go straigth to c++.

But Flowstone is so time saving...

hello exo, great to have one more of the 'old time users' on board and it also feels good to have a moderator and a person with a direct connection to malc.

this was my thoughts too, some confirmation about this would be really appreciated (think i`m not alone) sometimes i feel like a forgotten child in an abandoned system.. specially because like you said people count with news every 2-3 months and now its 6 months since the last update..

I hope because it's taking alot......
And i got no replies to emails for nothing... Usually i do not consider non-responding companies as thrustworthy.

Not since the very earliest of days of SynthMaker, long before even my time using it, did Outsim/DSPr ever reveal anything about their development "road-map" to anyone.
It's pretty safe to assume that he first "word" on this or any other new development will be if/when the coding is finished and there's an update ready to download/purchase - that's how it's been for the best part of a decade now.

From my experience working in a company that develops professional software, this old adage always comes to mind...
It takes 10% of the time to develop 90% of the code, and the other 90% of the time to finish the remaining 90% of the code!

Making an announcement, and then completely missing the target release date (maybe even repeatedly!) is something that can often erode people's trust even more than saying nothing. I've seen the kind of backlash it can lead to from the receiving end, and it's not the kind of pressure anyone would want to have to endure at work every day.

Personally, I really don't understand why people still expect to get an answer to these questions after all this time, and with the company having made quite clear that they won't make specific announcements. I don't mean that as a moral/ethical judgement for good or bad - it's just the reality of common business practice. Each company chooses whatever path they think best suits their commercial interests, and this is the one that DSPr have chosen, for better or worse. It's pretty certain that they must know how we feel about it by now, so all we can do is decide whether or not we get our wallets out and buy the software.

The VST SDK and plenty of C++ resources can all be had for free, so if the wait is getting boring, there's no need to sit around twiddling thumbs... ;)
All schematics/modules I post are free for all to use - but a credit is always polite!

You're rigth about SDK. Infact i am learning c++ and soon a framework im deciding for juce or WDL-OL.
The problem is always the same. Time.

For me (my interests) would be good to have at least this x64. So i can continue to use/develop with Flowstone and i don't have the pressure to making all SM/FS to c++.
Since i have to learn new languages for that, and c++ is far from php or ruby as difficulty, i prefer to invest these forces to new softwares/ideas instead of trying to port something done with SM/FS to c++.

Because even if i will be probably soon able to make a delay or a pan fx in c++, all other complex designs like synths may be alot diffcult.

This software has all the cards for still being a good tool for music software development... just it's going to be rather old.

Yes i know that this company never say never or nothing. But from 2010 when i started with SM i never seen big changes on the audio side. Ruby is excellent (as idea) but far for being totally reliable ATM.

I said it many times... Update the software to make it compatible with x64 plugins export (wrapping/interfacing or making both 32-64bit versions) and then add ability to make full primitives. I mean not dll process, but really primitives. Imagine what kind of door that will open.

Of course.. if possible.
With both these options i believe that topic like that will extinct.
