select/del/cut/copy - sometimes not working?

I've noticed, that sometimes after selecting (in-depth extensive) items in FS - (visually items seem to be selected) - standard functions like delete or cut/copy - sometimes seem to not work (as if the in-depth selecting was still in progress in background, blocking other operations). I mention this, because had no such issue in SM. Anyone encountered similar thing?

Maybe related?
This caught me out for quite a while...
When your mouse pointer is over the toolbox area, it goes into "Quick search" mode - pressing a letter on the keyboard finds all items with that initial letter. This can get you to what you're looking for quicker - but it means that if your mouse is over the toolbox, none of the regular shortcut keys work any more, because the toolbox grabs the mouse input.
Made me think that cut/paste was broken at one point too! Would be better if the toolbox only reacted to 'bare' letters, but kept the CTRL/ALT combo's working as normal - they don't serve any purpose within the toolbox as far as I can tell.

OMG I got caught out with this one yesterday for a good few hours.
I thought it was my bluetooth keyboard,

It could do with a setting in the options menus!
