2014 edit->
I have just got my site online.
Here it is:
http://www.phonicsaudio.com/old edit->I'm updating this thread instead of starting a new one with my biggish DAW expansion.
See the later posts for the D/L of the .dll s 8D
original post->
Heya,
I have been working on this synth since 2009,
thought i would up it here.
Here is the screen->

It's a 3 osc VA with 375 wavetables, draw and sampling oscs,
about 20 filter types per osc, like 40 mod destinations with 4 3 mode sources,
RM,FM, band-limited and sample osc modes, PW, hard sync, unison, poly porta,
mod wheel support , sequencer,definable arp,6 effects ++
here I have the testimonial of Mr. Rob Lee-->
"Really nice synth though"
"- sounds very cool indeed"
"You have a little Gem here

"
I've asked him to do a preset bank,
and his initial take- I couldn't be more happy with
So I'm spruiking my ware
I hope this is a keeper 4 u 8D

oh man, thats a synth monster, great work nix! can you tell me a secret? how is the random stepseqence done? i use this in one of my projects too with random value for each step with a counter but i get always the same random sequences ?

I chopped out the part of the LFO here->
I remember at one point I was using FM on sines to create noise,
and using sample rate reduction,
this gave me always the same resulting sequence.
I think this is something different though-
neways check the attatchment, hope it solves it.
Thanks for the encouragement fellas and kind words!
It has been quite long in the making,
lots of head scratching and frustration,
but perhaps it is ver.1 now 8D

Just at looks ... I really like how you shaped and shaded the main panel.
Curious, are the graphics from FS, or did you rendered outside of it ?
Thanks

np mr.Hollins,
I like talking about my builds.
The renders are from a file made by Johan Bryntesson,
he was copying the bg from an old synth called Trancer.
They are slightly asymetrical, it came out in the image filtering.
The 2 Photoshop filters are 'chrome' and 'plastic wrap',
if I recall correctly.
There is another 1 I liked called glass,
but it's in a plugin- Alien factory or something?
it's really old but I gotta get the full version.
Yeah- PS is a staple on GUI,
it's expensive, but well designed- ie. intuitive
Cheers mate

Congrats on finishing it.!
Gave it a quick 5min run in FL...
Created random(no chords) pattern in host..
Runs great...much like the previous version I had.
CPU was still a little high at 37....peaked at 40..
While synth was running, I hit the next preset and got an
audio lock-up happening...it managed to right itself after about 3 seconds.
Might be a good thing to disable preset chages while running and prevent the user from causing the glitch.
Still getting some great sounds from this synth...thanks
Hope this helps...

thanks nix for sharing, its a similar technic i used but you took "1" for the random seed and this solves the problem

Thanks for taking it for a spin Bill,
I think the audio skipping is just what happens when presets change.
There a pause as the data switches.
I'm showing 3-4% cpu use on the default patch,
I have a new laptop though.
I will check it on my old machine,
thanks for letting me know.
That sounds like a problem,
u could only run 2 instances.
How much does X11 use?
I can't remember when I made the seed setting Nu-Beat,
I'll remember that now that 1 works nicely. Cool that we have it going,
it is quite quick to generate the value,
it's using 1000hz in the example.
The gradient brush in PS can be set to fade to alpha,
I have used this tool in many art projects.

yeh i know....some synths you can get away with it...a lot of them you can't..all good.
I really liked the audio lock-up....'cause when I stuff something in X11 ,audio locks for good,
soundcard crash..always full on. Never seen a lock up like that...was cool..I did it repeatedly too,
and the next few go's the lock up was only about 1 second each.
nix wrote:I'm showing 3-4% cpu use on the default patch,

...i'm still on this 2.33 quad core....what's specs on your new laptop?...
your 3-4%...I'm 37-40%...amazing difference...
nix wrote:u could only run 2 instances
..havn't tried this yet....
nix wrote:How much does X11 use?
runs around 24... peaks about 30......
but on my crappy old laptop its another story.......
Entrancer crackles and spits out audio hitting 80%-90%... but IT STILL PLAYS...
X11 outgrew the laptop at about version 1.20 ..just tried the (2.05 version)
There is no cpu usage movement....just an occasional flutter !!
The clock does not move !!!
After about 15 sec the first sound starts, then before it gets to the next note it turns in to a delay
unit...struggling like hell to compute the next step...
Just can't describe it....incredible to watch.
After stopping and restarting it got going..X11 ran much like Entrancer..
80-90% and a complete mess of audio.
