Proper use of the "Closing" primitive

Hello fellow FlowStone users!
Simple question, with a simple answer I hope.
Program I'm writing opens serial comm port to send data (repeatedly, for testing). Using pushbuttons to Open/Close the comm port. However, I want to make sure the comm port is closed before exiting the program. I'm trying to use the "Closing" primitive but I don't think I understand how it is supposed to work, and how to correctly use it in my program. I'd appreciate any help from developers/users on this.
Thank you in advance!
BTW, I support a 64-bit version of FlowStone; it just makes sense.
