It's knobman's file format. Knobman is a design tool for generating bitmap-based knobs.

Good stuff. Thanks. Just a little off topic note: too bad that the FS stock Ruby knobs can not adopt traditional buttons and are too hard to modify. Could be great if someone that understand ruby well was modifying them to load PNG
knobs and buttons easily. There is "Trog knob" around, but this knob is kinda overkill and needs an decent optimizing as well. Some more simple and usable Ruby knobs and switches would be welcome.

Could you elaborate on that? What exactly do you expect from such a module. What should it feature to "load PNG
knobs and buttons easily"?
I know Trog's knob and of course the stock knob. But I never worked with knobman as a source of the generated bitmap. It seems knobman just generates a vertical strip (maybe horizontal also), so that should be compatible, or not?
I would like to see a set of feature definitions, to let me see if I can help here.
