Flowstone, Ruby, MIDI

I've been into SM/FS for a few months now and I'm totally addicted. It's a bit like learning electronics all over again but without the soldering iron burns!
I'm starting to get interested in looking into doing stuff in Ruby. I've found many tutorials and references and the User Guide is maybe a good start. What I haven't been able to find so far is a reference or tutorial on Flowstone's MIDI implementation. Worked examples are good but examining others' code gives rise to more questions and puzzlement for me.
Is anyone able to point me to something useful for my MIDI/Ruby education please?
