Module black lines

Hello gang,
When you have completed a module and there are still black lines in your creation and not all green, blue, etc and it's a complex module with many, many connections and the new module sort of works but not 100% do the black lines indicate a problem does still exist in the module? When a new creation is finished should all lines change to a color, like green for instance if your using green primes? Should there ever be any black lines in a finished , working module?
Thanks for any answer, I have been working on a large complex module and some testing makes me think it's working ok, yet other tests make me think it is not.
Later then BobF.....

?question?
Are the 'black lines' connected to BUS modules ?

Hi RJHollins,
Thanks for responding. No not really bus modules. There all modules from my digital logic collection. I am combining many of them to make a new digital logic module. It's going to be sort of, a multiplier, divider, square root, etc module. A math module of sorts. Again thanks.
Later then, BobF.....

I assume you mean the dark grey lines that connect a stream output with a stream input?
It's not easy to tell. Basically if they are dark grey it simply means they are not yet part of a mono or poly stream. However, I've also seen modules with those although they were without a doubt connected to blue or white.
When in doubt, make more tests. If everything works as you expect it to work it's maybe just a visual glitch.

I've seen this very occasionally. I just disconnect then reconnect any lines involved.
I've also found that it's best to connect to the output in a chain first, then work "forward" in a schematic.
Cheers

ah yes ... this seems to happen when the connect button [on the prim] does not have a specific assignment.

It's just a visual glitch. Black streams are streams that can work both as mono, poly and mono4, depending on which type of module they are connected to. They should change colours accordingly, but sometimes, when you collect a these modules together, they don't update. Normally it's just a visual glitch and does not affect the functionality. Only case I know of when it may cause problems is if the connection mismatch happens with bus prims - they use both name and connector type to detect which connectors should go where. However, I'm not sure of the exact circumstances when this issue may arise - it happened to me long long time ago and I fixed it immediately simply updating the connections.

Thanks gang,
A lot of good information here, but I think what it boils down to is what tulamide said, when in doubt, make more tests.
Thanks again all, Later BobF.....
