Like a bad penny i have returned once again!! :D I have been popping by every now and again to see who is all still here and such but not imputing much into the community, i have just survived my 3rd bout against the dreaded cancer! for 7 years i have been fighting this disease and i have just finished chemo for the moment anyway, they say i am in remission again but i don't hold out much hope for staying cancer free for long!

i now have made the hardest decision in my life and decided to step out of my commercial studios business :( for 27 years we have been one of the top recording studios in Scotland and have had the pleasure of producing material for many of the top acts, bands and artists from around the world, it has been a mighty fine privilege to do so too but i am tired, have no get up and go left in me, im done, i have decided to hand the entire business to my team of fine producers and engineers, im gifting the whole thing to them! later today, i am holding a meeting to tell them about my plan.

don't know what the future will bring me but im just hoping i live long enough to see flowstone go 64bit

anyway i hope to now have a bit more time to get back into flowstone and join in with the community once again!

all the best guys!

Welcome back and I hope stuff goes really well for you Jay.

As they say "Carpe diem" (Grab the fish).

Cheers

I hope everything will be well with you too Jay!

I thought carpe diem was: to seize the day, which has been replaced by YOLO: you only live once, with the new generation lol

"carpe diem" means "make use of the day". Tranlating the original words the verb is "carpere", which means "harvest".

But it stands for taking chances, enjoying the now and here, don't leave yourself high and dry. And in that regard I see "Grab the fish" as pretty accurate. ;)

And yes, each generation tries to re-invent the wheel. YOLO is just a synonym for "carpe diem".

Jay, I can't say that I can prevent showing compassion. I know it's the least people want, but I'm on a high empathy level, I literally feel pain when reading this. I also won't close my eyes and pretend that you will be safe now. I'm with you, and I hope you won't suddenly stop posting here on the forums again.

Welocome back, and how about a lightweight, but harmonics inducing compressor/limiter hybrid, made from your studio experiences, to match those experiences?

Shit...Jay....what are you doing with that cancer shit...thats my mothers star sign...
Cancer is a whimp...We have so many cancer cures coming from Oz...i lost count...
The problem is that when Australia completes its testing, standard procedure
is to wait, until the Americans test with thier shit. So basicly, we do the chemistry
part in Oz, punch it upstairs to Bush and his Drug store in the USA, and then
wait for CNN to aannounce that a new cancer cure is available in the Drug stores.
We dont have drug stores in Oz....we have Chemists instead.
So Amereica does all the work...Oz just does the mis en place.

Anyway...Great to see you back. :D
And yes, were all waiting for Malcolm and Myco to get their shit together.
Been a long wait. Im glad i bailed out, and saved some money.

That was just typical stupid English humour. I'd better explain...
Carpe sounds like Carp which is a type of fish, that's all.
The other version is "Blame God" because diem sounds a bit like Deus.
I guess wer'e a bit too international here for English humour

Cheers
