[SOLVED] Automation makes CPU spike
Hi,
I am having some issues with my plugin when it comes to automating the sliders/knobs.
The CPU goes from 10% up to 70-80% in FL Studio (same with Reason) and I am wondering if anybody else has had this issue for themselves? If I move the controls manually in the plugin really fast, the CPU stays normal. Does anybody know how to solve this?
*** EDIT ***
After fiddling around more, I managed to fix it with tulamide's Trigger Limiter http://flowstone.co.uk/support/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3904
I went to my knob and then to the Preset module and put the trigger limiter between the Current value and Value Output. Hope this solves for other people that has been encountering this issue aswell
Thanks!
Moderator comment: The schematic is made in an alpha version of FlowStone so it may crash FS 3.08.1

Re: Automation makes CPU spike
If you post a schematic we all can take a look and maybe find the cause. you dont have to upload your entire project just one knob

Re: Automation makes CPU spike
Hey,
is your default knob homemade by yourself or is it a downloaded knob from the forum?
There are a few versions available here on the forum... I would personally avoid the ones including Ruby...
Also, are your automation's or midilearn readings active and functioning when your plugin is minimized in your DAW?
That's something I encountered when developing my own version... and took me a while to resolve...
About, CPU spikes, I would suggest to check your knob redrawing... Use an area redrawing per knob, not the global redraw...
Hope this helps...
Take care

A good question in my opinion.
Unfortunately it led to off-topic and personal content so all the off-topic posts have been deleted from this thread to keep it on-track for everyone.
