high school robotics project

How can I incorporate fluid power into my high school robotics project? I have to incorporate fluid power into my high school robotics project. We use VEX robotics and for the project I must use fluid power to aid the movement of the device. I will lose points if I don't. Frankly, the fluid power accessories for VEX are far too expensive. Is there a cheap way to use fluid power for our project? Oh, and it has to been operated autonomously. Any help would be appreciated. We prefer it be cheap and efficient. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like another case of educators not knowing what they're asking of students. Are you expected to pay for this out of pocket for a grade?
