Latency with exported vst.....

Postby apoc123 » Wed Jul 23, 2014 11:09 pm

Hey guys, just wanted to know how to get rid of delayed sound in my exported vst, I have no issues in flowstone but in fl studio11 It is delayed when I press a key on my midi controller and I'm using the Asio on my sound card, when I open other plugins they work fine. No delay at all ..... Any solutions??? Thanks for reading! Help..... Is there a way to optimize performance.... Does messy wiring slow it down ? Why would it work perfect in flowstone but lag in fl?

maybe double check in other hosts as well before
you go to next stage of debugging the issue...

I'd agree with billy - this sounds like a host or export issue.

When your VST is in a host, it runs exactly the same code as in FlowStone - the VST file is actually your schematic plus an "embedded" version of FlowStone without the edit screen. So if it runs well in FlowStone, it ought to run with exactly the same CPU load in a host.

Do you get any nasty audio glitches at all? - if the sound is still clear then it's unlikely to be a CPU issue.

"Messy Wiring" etc. also isn't really an issue (except that it makes de-bugging more tricky!) - you can route a link through many twists and turns, and in and out of modules, as much as you like and it makes no difference. FlowStone is very forgiving that way!
All schematics/modules I post are free for all to use - but a credit is always polite!

Thanks guys for responding, I will check in other daws.... It makes no glich sounds at all it is just like a millisecond delayed ....it messes up my timing when I'm trying to play , it's like the first 1 or 2 keys are perfect then the third key is delayed and fourth is delayed , i am running fl studio 11 32 bit on windows bootcamp on a Mac mini i7 4 gb ram , could that be the issue? I'll upload the vst tomorrow maybe one of you guys could try in another daw I only have reason and fl studio ...(reason doesn't support vsts so I'm stuck with fl). ......

if you upload fsm, will be happy to give it run in
other daw.
In the meantime, if your serious about your work,
you really need more than one daw for testing.
Dont need to buy it...google free vst host. ..several out
there...also, u could download a demo Vst host, like
maybe Abelton Live....
