Scope's in FS
Re: Scope's in FS

I wrote FLS not FLFS. And FLS means FruityLoops Studio.

That is exactly what's in the schematic... Jesus...
The ticker is in Ruby, it has 2 identical timed outputs, one with a Ruby connector and one in green. And all of the other stuff in the schematic is identical for both parallel running lines. And in the scope you see the pure ruby trace is constant clocked (sample accurate) and the trace of the green part is shifting around.
@Drnkhobo:
What you are asking for isn't that easy. You have to capture the PPQ as Ruby Frame and also the audio stream itself. Then scan the Ruby Frame for a beat change, when there is one, throw out the array of previous recorded samples, and start recording a new array of samples. Maybe I'll try it tomorrow...

Re: Scope's in FS
Thanks for clarifying MyCO regarding the 2 timing display.
For us new to FS and Ruby ... there is a lot to learn and begin understanding. These examples definitely help toward that.
Although 'You Guys' are at a much higher programming level, it's appreciated when you simplify parts of the conversation so that we can somewhat follow. There may come the time when I'll need to utilize these types of processes in my project.
Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge and experience !
Sincerely.

Re: Scope's in FS
I've tried it, but don't get it to work correctly. Somehow this thing overloads my CPU... looks like Ruby isn't fast enough, or maybe I do something stupid and don't see it.

My problem is that Hosts don't run on ruby.(correct me if I'm wrong)
I need someone to take a midi-green-midi circuit into a host,
THEN TELL ME how many SAMPLES it is OUT, according to the host.
I really appreciate your efforts to explain all this Myco.
While your example can be called accurate, fact is, we don't record in textbooks.
We do it in hosts.
This one small test above will clarify it completely for me.
Untill then, Despite it's accuracy or whatever it is, you last example doesn't apply.
Hope you understand were I'm coming from.

Re: Scope's in FS
Also
Sorry, did the post quick at work...should read...
"RUBY to GREEN to RUBY MIDI".
As you can see, it's identical to my first question
And i really can't wait to hear an answer that's plausible.
And please no more examples with "alien" timing systems.
When a real person downloads my synth, they put it in a host and make accurate music.
Of what purpose is another timing system, telling them that there work is not accurate.
What a bloody joke.
Am i to supply my users with a a seperate Ruby clock, to verify thier Host is ok
Jesus will not help you here mate.
I've got a "Royal Flush", and all the Full houses and 4 of a kinds you can pull out of your textbook
won't help.
Take your Ultimate Proof fsm, stick a vsti on it, and a "RUBY to GREEN to RUBY MIDI" set up
and generate an error in a host.
Your theories Myco are sound in the classroom, but on the street they just don't wash.
the Host is the final judge.
