Hom files
Hello gang,
Well I was backing up my hom files (modules) yesterday and at the same time looking through them. Seeing some others might use I thought, what if each of us takes some time (a few days to a week) and looks through there hom files for any usfull, cool, unusal, and ones maybe you created yourself and then shares them here. I myself am still sorting and looking but will post a collection in a few days to a week at the most. What are the rest of your thoughts on this godd idea or bad idea?
Later then, BobF.....

Re: Hom files
Nice idea Bob.
I don't know for certain if you can just drag them in and they will appear in FS.
Anyhow, I zipped up my whole appdata/Roaming/Flowstone/modules/user folder but at the moment I prefer not to spend the time sorting them out so I took the easy (lazy) route and provided them all. It's 184MB probably due to all the bitmap knobs and stuff in there. I've tested everything in there and I don't just save stuff for the sake of it.

I now nominate Martin to do the same
Cheers

Re: Hom files
great idea.
i am very new to flowstone so i dont have a collection. but spogg's Synthmaker Greatest Hits have been very helpful already,
i sense that in the old synthmaker forums, there were tons of schematics that are now nowhere to be found. is that correct?
there is also the image line fl studio forum category about synthmaker / flowstone. is there communication between here and there?
or in other words.. are schematics scattered in the internet in forums and personal sites etc or is there a place where people gather them together? do you people know?
thanks

Re: Hom files
i have browsed in flowstone guru already. very helpful.
but for the old SM forum copy... well, i dont know what to say. thank you for showing me that treasure
yes i like the environment a lot. the developers found clever ways to overcome various issues of similar software (like reaktor for example that i have been using for years)
i just have the common concern about the lack of 64 bit and vst3 spec support and the feeling that obsolescence is lurking around the corner

It is exactly because of the clever ways (I think Flowstone could be called a "middleware") that I hope Flowstone won't die. It's not so much the 64 bit (only interesting for samplers), but VST3 support that needs to come sooner rather than later. DSPRobotics in the last years concentrated very much on the robotics part of Flowstone. But lately they brought MyCo on board, and he is solely working on the audio part of Flowstone, though I don't know if this is intentional or just a result of our bug fix and improvement wishes being solely about the audio part. This gives me hope that, as soon as MyCo has done his training on the code and becomes confident enough, there will be a major upgrade to 64 bit/vst3.
But of course I'm no fortuneteller
Btw, I very much like the drums on "The helix of innocence". Please tell me you programmed or played them, and that it isn't just a bunch of loops!

Re: Hom files
yes lack of 64bit is not a problem for me personally
the daw/tracker i use mainly is renoise and it bridges vsts between 32 and 64 bit easily and on the fly. so thats no problem
but other daws like ableton live are not able to bridge 32bit vsts to their 64bit environment. and some people dont like the idea of using jbridge.
so the lack of 64bit support results in fewer people being able to use the exported vsts. thats my concern.
i hope you are a fortuneteller and it all happens the way you described.
glad you liked the drums. it is a loop cut to pieces and reprogrammed / rearranged. hope that didnt disappoint you

Re: Hom files
oh! that's nice the SM link was new.
Yes, the audio DSP side is what interests people on the net,
so I too hope that the brilliant MyCo will have some goodies for us.
The app is really neat and straightforward-
defying the concept that visual programming adds an uneccessary layer of convolution

Ok gang,
Here are my hom files, but come on people more than myself, Spogg, nix, have hom files to share I would think. Some of you old timers that have been around since the Synthmaker days, you guys should have lots of interesting hom files to share. Also any one old or new to the forum if you have anything please share. Especially interesting ones or ones you have created yourself.
Thanks, BobF.....
