Digital in/out

Postby BobF » Mon Sep 26, 2016 11:47 pm

Hello gang,

Ok I have another crazy question, do we within Flowstone have the capability of utilizing S/PDIF (digital input and output).

Thanks as always, BobF.....

Yes ... the ASIO PRIMITIVE will poll the computer for whatever devices/connections are available.

It is very important ... do NOT have the ASIO/DS Prim connected to your schematic when exporting. If it is, it can confuse the connections on other systems.

At least, this is how I understand it.

Hello RJHOLLINS,

As soon as I saw your posting I wanted to try it. I put a digital signal into my computer via the S/PDIF input and nothing. As it turns out, it seems using Flowstone under Fl Studio does not have a "Asio Primitive" . It looks like when you select asio through Fl Studio it automatically selects it for Flowstone so there is no separate asio primitive.

Thanks very much for the info though, I will keep researching. I am sure this is the methoid, I will just have to go back and see if I can find info in the Fl Studio documentation.

Later then, BobF.....

You are on the right track. The FL Studio version of Flowstone acts just like any other plugin and therefore just sends audio out. That's why that version only has a "audio out" prim (and also only "audio in"). And that also means indeed that you must setup Fl Studio to accept S/PDIF (most likely via ASIO).

Hi BobF ... I did not know this about the FL version. In the FS app we've 2 PRIMS.

Anyway, thanks to 'T' for explaining. 8-)

Bob, you need to persuade Bonnie to let you have the "proper" version of FS

Cheers
