In an attempt to get my head around this stuff, I've constructed the "LinearTrapezoidalSin" SVF outlined in one of the papers by Andrew Simper found here:

http://www.cytomic.com/technical-papers

It's basically just a translation of the pseudo-code in the paper. Feel free to point out any mistakes, as I am definitely still a noob with this stuff.

It sounds pretty similar to martinvicanek's SVF from this thread, but enough different to be worth trying I think.

Once again, most of the work here is not my own, so if you use it please give credit to Mr. Simper over myself.

My plan is to use what I've learned here to build some other filters, but I make no promises on how long that might take. :) In the meantime, follow it up with a waveshaper or saturator of some sort for good times. The schematic below includes one of the stock VSTi modules with one of these inside so you can give it a quick try right away.
