Any word on a 64 bit version ?
Re: Any word on a 64 bit version ?
I came to the same conclusion and started developing synths with other platforms. I still use flowstone occasionally for io stuff as I have the flowboard etc, but have given up using it for DSP. Buying the yearly update pack is a complete waste of money - don't do it!!!! Just buy the update if they actually add something you need.

Same counts for sample handling, it still not supports correct loop-start-stop points correctly (or just not at all) when set by for instance in wavelab. SFZ does, but i don't want to use that. I want to be able to create sample containers just like in NI-Kontakt or SampleTank, were these markers are recoqniezed correctly.
If you create a sample based synth, you don't them to grab your samples as wav by copying them simple.
And still after 6 pages here no single reaction from the devs, like we are working on it.
Open up a bit, just like Jeff does with Synthedit although i seems like it also willl never bring out a stable version as they are working on it for years now.
Best options: Learn C, Learn C#, Learn Ruby and use GUI makers for them. Or learn how to DIY.

Yup- flowstone may have absorbed SynthMaker. but its direction since then is clearly 'robotics' (and education)- which is fair enough if that's where the DEV wants to take the product, but I think the people who use the software predominantly for DSP (where 64 bit is often necessary) we should be given a heads up as to the 'roadmap' for Flowstone. Its time for an official post on this from the Developer(s)

If you open my plugins in wordpad, you see it says ossm at the end.
In my hands the loop points are sample accurate, the whole basis i founded my choice on in 08.
Still digging it. Now X64 would just make me happy.

Maybe in your hands they are accurate, but in Flowstone nor in SM not in a hundred years.
If you set markers on your wave file in Labview (talking about one of the most used wave editors in the world) the waveplayer in FS or SM does not do a thing with markers, except for the SFZ system, but then you still have wav files saved and a txt file with your pluggy and i want a container like *.nki and region start, region end, loop start, loop end, mute start, mute end, etc. and there is a bunch of topics about it too on the SM forum.
Also the devs said or 2 back they if we wanted that kind of support for wav file they could build it in.
It still has to happen.

mmm ... curious.
Looking at alternatives, has anyone here heard of, or worked with 'Pure Data' ??
I was just now made aware of it, and just beginning to read up on it.
Any info ?

thanks!!

it doesnt matter whether you make some fancy format for your samples or not, they can quite easily be ripped by even the noobest of noobs useing such softwares as extreme sample converter, where it might not be able to ripp your format directly, it can certainly load any vst instrument then record and build a velocity layered multisample patch of your instrument that can be then be exported!

I know.
But it is ugly.
And for people who would like to create and sell their expansions it would be handy.

Pure Data, I think is good upto being able to squeeze these kind of programs for what theyre worth. But that depends if you like to explore low level versions of modules designed by you. Or rather bolt down these modules and figure out theyre 10 times more cpu unfriendly as a result. But roll with it to get freaky sounds. In that case i'd reccomend Reaktor for synths. Good sound out of the box. Or synthmaker/Flowstone for nitty gritty granular synthesizers, or custom filter design and oscillators. Im working on the sweetest ladder filter I've ever had. And at the end of the day I got it as low level as it gets, and was able to proto as I went. Giving a soundwise edge to preconceived thinking, which is in many cases a blind deaf and dull copy.
