building a midi VST synth noob question
Hi all!
I have a seemingly very simple question.
I am trying to build a midi synth where I can control basic parameters with an external midi controller (cutoff, res, ADSR, etc.). I have been trying to follow the examples that are in the tutorial that say to drag in the "midi in" component from the toolbox. But when I add the Midi In component it doesnt show anything like any of the examples which show the options of "PC keyboard" and whatever other MIDI the computer your working with has connected in my case it should say MIDI uno device cuz I have a USB to midi cable going to my MIDI controller. However when I drag the midi in component into the schematic it only says FL studio.. is this what it should say, Im just kinda confused cuz I think thats the right thing Im dragging in. Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Flowstone recognizes midi gear when you start it. So make sure to turn on your midi controller before starting FS. But that's pretty much all I know.

Re: building a midi VST synth noob question
Hi zaanpedro, welcome to the forum.
I think the reason for this is that you are working with the FL version of FlowStone. I don't use it myself, but I think that the drivers may not show because FL has already linked to them. The 'FL studio' entry is most likely the MIDI data for whatever track your FS instance is running in - so to get the MIDI, you should make sure that your FL track is set to receive MIDI data from your hardware driver (maybe needs to be in 'record ready' mode?).
A few other folks here use the FL version, so hopefully they can confirm if I'm right about that!

All schematics/modules I post are free for all to use - but a credit is always polite!

That's about it Trog, the midi device can be seen in a list in the "Midi Settings" section.
Enabling it there for use, makes it available.
No device in list = midi device install issue....
