just change the value of "Install Folder" to the install folder of the other FS version.

By now you should have figured out, that you can run both versions at the same time... and they work "mostly". One of them will always show an error in ruby though (and VST / EXE exports might not work correctly). Changing the install folder registry fixes that. It also tells the exporters for EXE / VST which dll's to use, just a side node...

You can use the workaround with the registry exports I mentioned previously so you don't need to edit the registry all the time

Edit: I've updated the the original instructions:

Thanks, MyCo. So I have to
1. Export the key with the FS install folder to a file
2. Copy that file and edit it manually to point to the 3.0.9 install directory
Your first hack description didnt have the manual editing part, thats where I got stuck. Thanks again, will try it out tomorrow.

This may be a stupid or impossible request but do you think that future releases could allow multiple versions to be installed?
I'm thinking that Reaper allows a portable install option so you can specify an external drive and all the required stuff goes there. This would allow any incompatibilites with former projects to not cause any issues.

Since Windows 95 I've never been over fond of The Registry system and prefer text-based .ini files. In the days of Windows 3.1 there was a file length issue for ini files but I don't think that should be a problem these days.

Maybe I'm just too old :D

Cheers

There is a bug I've detected at my current installed 3.0.6 version and just curious to now if fixed on newer versions:
The wave array primitive's "Nosav" input doesn't respond to "true" and keeps saving schematics + exporting exe files containing the whole bunch of samples built-in. Can anyone please confirm?

BUG: Touch-Screen R-Click simulation on EXE Compiled GUI and in FS... v309b1 disables this feature... :(
Press and hold does the same thing as right-clicking an item. To perform the action, touch the screen where you want to right-click, hold until a box appears, and then lift your finger. The shortcut menu appears after you lift your finger.

P.S.: 309b1 FSM's are not loadable in 3081 :( even wo new prim)

I don't think FS can disable that in any way (as it just sees a right click). Else all I can say is that the right click behaviour wasn't changed at all in this version.

Yes, forgot to mention. The saved files are not downward compatible due to the new assembler and the editor features (eg. bookmarks).

Well, that's not that easy... we would have to duplicate your whole toolbox for every new version that you install.

Attached a very simple schematic using the stock multi-sample module and added a switch button to turn on\off the "NoSav" feature for easy testing. Also attached the SFZ patch. The schematic saved the SFZ samples and its 4.6 mb now (Had to upload it to an external server since DSPR's site supports only 2 mb files maximum). After downloading, All you have to do is to use 3.0.6 ver. or newer and save the schematic while the "NoSav" switch is on. If it remains 4.6 mb, then its probably a bug that needs a fix.

Thanks! :)

Update for that: It was caused by a library update. I think we fixed it... at least it's working on my old tablet again.
