So, when is 64bit VST3.5.x be released in FS?
Re: So, when is 64bit VST3.5.x be released in FS?
I jumped on the FS upgrade plan because 64-bit VST was announced as a high priority. To this day FS has not given me anything that SM already gives me, and I still use my old SM only. So, as long as 64-bit VST export is not implemented, I would not buy any new upgrade plane either because it would be to pay for nothing in my case.

from here synthedit answers
all in development, do not have to wait 10 or 20 years.
We are close to having export to mac functionality in SynthEdit Version 1.2. What this means is you develop your plugin on the PC, which can then be exported to a Mac VST plugin. There is no Mac version of the SynthEdit editor.
To prepare for this you need to be developing with the 64-bit version of SynthEdit, because this is the version than can export VST Version 3 plugins.
There are limitations with VST3 export. Most of SynthEdit's graphical modules don't work. This is because VST3 export uses a new graphics library called VST-GUI. Currently only basic knobs, sliders, list-entry, and image modules will display in VST-GUI. This should be enough to build some plugins though.
The good news about VST-GUI is any GUI you make will be Mac-compatible.
Another limitation with 64-bit SynthEdit is that most 3rd-party modules are only available as 32-bit versions, which are incompatible. Initially you will be restricted to the modules that ship with SynthEdit. Any 3rd party modules you use will need to also be available as Mac versions.
Initially the only format supported on Mac will be VST3 64-bit. VST3 does have an AU (Audio Unit) format wrapper available though, so in future we may be able to implement AU support also

Wow- I just downloaded the synthedit 64 bit- it looks a lot like Flowstone (well SM) now!!
Definitely a major upgrade-
''export to mac functionality in SynthEdit Version 1.2.'' - if they crack export to iOS they will clean up

Then that's it, I guess Synth Edit wins..
I think one of the reasons why people did not switch to SE was the GUI/IDE sucked.. if it is like SM now then that's the end of SM for a lot of people.
-64 Bit support
-MAC
-VST 3
"Stuff" that we decided would never happen with SM is already happening with SE! MAC support for one.. That's something that I always felt will never happen with SM/FS (on account of its reliance on the Windows API). The best we could hope for was 64 bit support and even that seems like a long shot now because of the problems introduced by Ruby.
I have to be honest here and say this is a sad day for me.. I backed SM/FS to the end and no one likes losing the game..
Damn!
EDIT:
I take that back...
I just read of the new FS 3.03 release and that the Ruby issue is solved, that's a major step forward and enough for me to keep my support right where it is with FS. Now the 64 bit issue can be solved.
MAC Version?
Who cares..?
Apple is riding high right now for sure, but they'll screw up again just like they always do.. I could not care less about iOS either. RTAS/AAX, and VST 2.4, now that's a different story..

Re: So, when is 64bit VST3.5.x be released in FS?
The all world moved on to 64bit. in this days, i think it will be a shame to release a 32bit ver' only.
you can make the best you can, and its still not enough. without 64bit, FS will become "a 5 bucks synth
maker". and That is really bad, because this soft has so much potential. i hope that the upgrade won't take
to long. anyway, if SE will release the 1.2 ver soon as they promise, i will start my next project with it.

Amen to that! No matter how hard you work, when you only release 32 bit VST nowadays , you will viewed as an amateur..

can someone post a screenshot of how the synthedit looks like? Can you write assembly in it? I still think SM/Flowstone is more powerful though...

As far as i know there is no new on synthedit for a few years now.
And also i searched the web for any demo downloads on synthedit 64bit version 1.2 Demo, there aint.
Also looking on the website of synthedit there is no news for years.
please correct me if i'm wrong.
For now there is only development in Flowstone

OK. you are wrong

Type synthedit in google its #1 - very active community on KVR, also you cqan actually get a book on programing with synthedit (it was published by Wizzoo but is now a download PDF)- quite handy...
The 64 bit demo is only 'Alpha' and I have never used synthedit, so I am not trying to promote it! Clearly synthedit is aimed at building VST synth/effects (not robots or home automation) so will have benifit of focus if that is all you want.
Having never used SynthEdit and being new to Flowstone I can only comment that Flowstone looks a lot better, and is far more developed in terms of GUI & modules etc, I can also state categorically that flowstone is easier to use as I was up and running in about 5 minutes dragging filters in to the example synth and making sound- it took me 30 minutes to get a note out of synthedit!

As far I remember, in SE - no exporting EXE apps?
BTW: SE alpha does not works on my machines. A long list of errors pops up on start, and it quits.
