Thanks for your nice comments Bob! :D

I had a very favourable message from a "customer" who loved the inbuilt recorder in my percussion synths and begged me to always include one in every future synth. So I have and will!

Given the potential usefulness, it's surprising that all synths don't have such a feature. Of course you can use the DAW to record, but then it's a lot of messing about to extract the sample (I think).

Cheers

Not with VSTHost! - I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing me rave about it but, recording anything your'e doing in VSTHost is just two clicks away. I had no idea it was a clumsy process in a typical DAW.

I didn’t know that Kevin. I presume you mean it will record the audio out?

Regarding the DAW thing, I was thinking more about one-shot recordings for later use in a sampler, rather than recording whole stems (clips).

Cheers

Oh, I see - you can tell how ignorant I am about what DAWs can and can't do.

Mind if I make a custom skin for it with a perfect colour?

I'll make it everything you could imagine a piano plug could look like. I wanted to do the same thing with your organ plug too, and your ass synth. Between your ass and organ, those would be next, definitely  .

Yes, please feel free Robert. I'd be honored.

Once I share something, anyone can do anything with my stuff. One of my goals is to inspire others to do better than me. That way we all benefit.

Cheers

This fell short a bit but I love the bass preset. I believe that stems mostly from the mid bands and some of the lower spectrum. If there was various types of mellow smooth rich undertones in place so as to represent the hammer there might certainly seem to be the realism that you desire.

But, I noticed you mentioning some of the shortcomings regarding samples; and more recently I made a new sampler idea. I will put something together with piano samples and maybe you and I can co-release it? It would be a fun project but we would need a team name.

tty soon.

BTW, I can make a sampler for a piano using only one sample which will cut offf on note on press and will use release and sine to perfect the release and transience. It's a different and simpler approach to transience I think we could pull it off if you are down for it.

:)

If you're down for the project (free of course). DL'in creative commons piano samples now.

I’ll be very interested to see and hear the sampler you come up with Robert!

I’m not sure you’ll need my input, but if you have any issues I can help with just ask.

I would suggest you start a new topic when you have something working rather than burying it here, then it’s easier for new readers to find and follow.

Good luck!

The thing is, ZI'm sure you'll get it spot on, porjects are like that. A side project provides the focus and ideas.
