Synthmaker Greatest Hits
Re: Synthmaker Greatest Hits
Synthmaker knobs and sliders
I decided to look through all the knobs on the old site and made a collection from what I found. The zip is about 20megs but there's so much in there. All the knobs are ready to go so you don't need to use Knobman. Hope you find something nice for your toolbox.

Vintage Vu meter
Nice looking Vu meter. The display blanked out with a level greater than 1 so I added a simple float min prim to block anything over 1. In the module you can set the response of the needle.

Superkeys on-screen MIDI piano keyboard
I just love this find from 2008.
The keyboard can be played with your mouse and also displays the incoming MIDI keys as you play. The keyboard is 4 octaves but it looks modular so it may be possible to change the size. The right mouse click causes the note to hold (selectable inside the module). The glissando support is brilliant too. Plus you can set the lowest MIDI note number inside the module.
When I started with Flowstone I was surprised there was no stock keyboard since many commercial and free plugin synths feature one.
Highly recommended!

WAV file browser with preview player
This is a really good WAV file browser. It's easy to use and the instructions are on the schematic front page.
This is a great way to find the sample you want from a whole bunch.
Spogged things:
- Changed the path string output to show the full path for the selected file while playing.
- Tidied the English in the schematic comment box.

Selection of Vu bar graph meters
Here is a good selection of fast bar-graph Vu meters of various sizes with horizontal and vertical orientation. They're presented for demo inside a rather nice wave player, ready to play. Most have a peak hold function and they can all be tweaked for response.
Spogged:
Minor change to note in schematic

Screen grid measure
Nice tool for measurement of relative screen position. Very easy with instructions on the schematic.

You're welcome.
It's actually quite fascinating!
I reject quite a lot of stuff for various reasons. Sometimes they just don't work or would need lots of work and changes. Some are not special enough (my opinion of course) and may have been superceded. Some are bug illustrations or derived from questions and so on. The ones I post have made an impression on me, again for various reasons like they may be simple but very useful or impressive or illustrate a principle etc.
I started at the oldest (2008) and am working forward in time. I've learnt it's a good idea to search for more recent versions before posting; sometimes there's a large gap before an update was posted (e.g. Superkeys).
Anyways, thanks for the feedback Martin.
Cheers

Tool Tip
With this clever idea you can add pro-looking tool tips to your schematic.
You can overlay the display areas to have a fixed location (like Native Instruments) OR put each tool tip box by the knob or anywhere you want. Use the Properties view to enter your text and configure the tool tip display.
Spogged: I made a demo module to have 2 knobs instead of the single knob in the original post, just to illustrate the system as NI would do it.

Wave Player with Hold till end
This wave player mod allows the wave, once started, to complete to the end of the wav file. Might be useful for triggering longer percussion samples like cymbals. This would mean the note-on time would not need to be determined in the sequencer.
