Synthmaker Greatest Hits
Re: Synthmaker Greatest Hits
Background generator
Nice tool to create backgrounds. You can create "scrapes" which can be set to look like brushed metal or other effects.
You can save the created background as a png file.
I can see a lot of potential for further development of this idea.

Ree-Simulator-SM synthesiser
A very nice looking and sounding synth with lots of useful features. Comes with 32 ready-made presets to check out.
Spogged: I made a lot of changes to the Preset Manager system to customise it to my personal needs:
-Made the File dialogue button visible.
-Set to Lock to preserve the presets.
-Made the presets file counter visible.
-Changed the height of the filename display.
-Increased the program count to 128 max.
Since there were several earlier versions of this, all with the same original Program Manager restrictions, the authors clearly didn't want these features available. I'm not sure why but I apologise if if I have transgressed their intentions in some way.
Authors: JPearl, Mad_Manx, Tomahawk.

Image Saver
One for the toolbox?
Connect any image from a bitmap prim and it will display. You can then save it in any of range of selectable file formats. Could be used, for example, to alter the colour or size of a knob's image strip in a photo editing package before re-loading it.
Remember that only the png format will save full transparency, others will substitute black.

Re: Synthmaker Greatest Hits
TrashMach synthesiser
A synthesiser with many features and interesting graphics. There are 64 ready-made presets to play with and I do know this is very generous due to the time needed for good sound design.
Spogged: Several changes to the Preset Manager (nothing else):
-Made the File button visible.
-Made the file counter visible.
-Increased the font size for the preset name, to make it more legible.
-Set the manager to Lock so as to preserve the presets.
-Increased the preset count from 64 to 128.
Author(s): Unknown but this is clearly the same crew that did the Ree-Simulator-SM previously uploaded.
So probably are JPearl, Mad_Manx and Tomahawk.
I have realised that hiding the File button and limiting the preset number may have been intended to encourage payment for a full version which then had these features available on the VSTi. I have searched on Google for mention of these products and got no hits. The fact that the originals' OSMs were uploaded to the public on the old Synthmaker forum leads me to believe that my modifications should be ok.
As always, if an author wishes to have their work removed from this forum, please just PM me and I will comply immediately.

Pitch Bend and mod wheels
Here's a large collection of pitch-bend and modulation wheels based on a common monochrome theme.

Drawbars with random and reset
Interesting idea I think. These various coloured drawbar controls each have a randomise and a reset input which technique I guess could be applied to other knobs.
Spogged: Added trigger switches and a float to demo and test.

8x8 Patch plug bay
Nice looking patch bay configured for 8 inputs to 8 outputs. Looks to be easy to adapt to the size you need. The pegs remind me of the old "suitcase" AKS synths - always wanted one!
Spogged: I added a preset properties module and a Preset Manager and it works as it is. BUT all the pegs (switches) have the same preset name so each would have to be named uniquely to work properly in a host DAW.

Re: Synthmaker Greatest Hits
Routeable switches and knobs
Here are 7 different coloured switches and knobs.
The cool thing is that you right-click on them to select the routing based on your bus names. These are entered on the Properties view and have no limitation. So you could, for example, use these to choose a modulation source. If you choose "Disconnected" the control goes black. The knobs could control levels for the routing selected.
These are nice small controls to keep your front panel less cluttered and your schematic, using buses, neater and easier to follow.
Spogged: One of them now has spogg as a route .
Also I added the note about right-clicking
Cheers

Frequency shift and delay.
This is a very competent effects unit featuring ASM frequency shifters and delays, which I assume are optimised.
The author has provided 8 presets which give some idea of the range of possibilities with this module.
It's just crying out for a nice GUI then job done.

Re: Synthmaker Greatest Hits
Step oscillator
This is an oscillator where you control the waveform which is divided into 6 steps. There is a surprising range of sound created by playing with the 6 knobs.
I do like the graphic representation of the wave and you can listen as you tweak the steps.
The module creates a 256 sample wave based on the steps you set and this is then played by the wavetable read prim. The calculation for the wave is done in Green but I didn't hear untoward noises so you could probably use a slow modulation (LFO, ADSR)for the steps.
Spogged: Changed to an ASIO out for testing. Created a couple of waves to test the Preset Manager and all ok.
