Basic Synth - Preset Manager issue

Postby Alexdiguardo » Mon Nov 27, 2023 10:25 am

Hey I'm experimenting with a basic Synth with oscillators, envelope etc.

The Preset Manager is a bit buggy. It does load presets and change the sound but some of the knobs in the GUI stay the same.

I'm not using custom knobs and this happens both on Flowstone and on Cubase after I export it.

Would someone be so kind to take a look at the schematics attached to see what's wrong with the preset manager?

I have a demo video too:

Thank you a million!

Note to others: File seems to be made using FS4

I'm not that versed in FS but I can always get the discussion going... 8-)

Seems to work inside FS4... But it doesn't update UI when saved project is loaded in Cubase?

If you increase the number of presets to be stored in the manager, and then in Cubase flip between different presets using the managers arrow buttons... does it update the knobs then?

And... does the knobs animate when you automate them in Cubase?

The arrows to switch to other presets don't seem to work neither (nor in FS or Cubase).

It seems that only the components under "Oscillator 1" don't change in the UI after loading a preset.

Automations within Cubase seem to work ok

I gather you did increase the amount of presets in the manager under the propeties (P)?

Here's a resaved file. I don't have the latest FS4 so I don't know if you can open it...

Does it work?

PS
Don't forget that all preset parameters/knobs has to be given unique parameter names... For example OSC1... OSC2.... Detuner1... Detuner2... and so on...

ah my bad. Should have thought of increasing the number on the preset manager.

I can't seem to open your file like you predicted.

I did some more tests and only the components under "Oscillator 1" don't seem to respond to the preset change

Of course that was the problem. The Oscillators had the same name so only 1 was responding

Thanks a lot my friend!
