New Feature Suggestion: In-schematic tags

Postby billv » Mon Mar 11, 2013 6:03 am

This may already exist, in some form, so please correct me if I'm wrong.
The Focus Mode is brilliant, but I'm after something else. A bit similar.
When working inbetween two modules, in different parts, in the schematic, it can be a real pain
to go deep inside one module, then click after click to get back out, and then click after click
in the other module till you find what you want.

So I'd like to see a dual-tag option for every module.
So, you right click the module, select TAG 1, on the other select TAG 2.
Trigger via PC Keyboard key.
How's that for lightning fast workflow. :)
Easily extend it with more than two tags, and then we can cycle through.
I know we can use the top viewing bar and jump several modules in advance, but your still searching
so to speak.

Get the view you want on screen.
Press SHIFT plus one of the 'F' function keys along the top of your keyboard.
The key name will appear in the little navigator thumbnail.
Now just press that same 'F' key on its own to jump straight to the same view - it doesn't need to be visible in the Navigator to jump there.

Also the regular number keys are shortcuts to the views you can see in the Navigator.

Yes - it's lightning fast!! :D
All schematics/modules I post are free for all to use - but a credit is always polite!
Don't stagnate, mutate to create!

"Focus" mode is really cool - crashes my FS always - with no exception. :-)
Fortunately I don't know what it is and what for it is :-D
Need to take a break? I have something right for you.

I noticed this F feature is in SM too.
I must have know about it at some point, and forgot about it.
Another dose of Alzheimer's or senility creeping in again. Not good.
