Hello you all,

I have been very busy with my professional life, but I really appreciate what has been posted recently by Halon and Bob and others. Thank you for sharing all that!
And thank you Spogg for cleaning up the daily spam-mess.
To give something back, here's a book on DSP that - to my knowledge - can't be downloaded via any html.index. So here are the links:

The Scientist and Engineer's Guide to Digital Signal Processing

https://www.analog.com/media/en/technic ... p_book_Ch1 to Ch33.pdf plus dsp_book_frontmat.pdf for the introduction

Spelled out:

https://www.analog.com/media/en/technic ... ontmat.pdf
https://www.analog.com/media/en/technic ... ok_Ch1.pdf
https://www.analog.com/media/en/technic ... ok_Ch2.pdf etc.

And another download list concering filters:

123.physics.ucdavis.edu/week_5_files/filters/digital_filter.pdf
https://users.dimi.uniud.it/~antonio.da ... ilters.pdf
https://pubweb.eng.utah.edu/~cs5785/sli ... 18-1up.pdf
http://www.music.mcgill.ca/~ich/classes ... sChap2.pdf you can browse the directory via http://www.music.mcgill.ca/~ich/classes/which looks promising, though I haven't checked it.
https://www.theseus.fi/bitstream/handle ... sequence=1

Website:
http://spinlab.wpi.edu/courses/ece503_2014/ looks interesting
http://spinlab.wpi.edu/courses/ece503_2 ... design.pdf

Website:
http://www.rw.cdl.uni-saarland.de/priva ... S0203.html Is a course on embedded systems.

http://www.rw.cdl.uni-saarland.de/~kaes ... cthr05.pdf concerns digital filters. I have not looked at the rest of the course.

I wish you all a good sunday and a happy Diwali next week.

Hardware project from England:

https://web.wpi.edu/Pubs/E-project/Avai ... 15-142325/

This project comprised the development of a digital music synthesizer capable of performing subtractive synthesis with several stages of audio effects processing. The system was implemented on the Zedboard, a development board with a Xilinx Zynq System-on-Chip, a multifunctional device which features a dual-core ARM microprocessor and Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) logic. The completed synthesizer was capable of producing a wide variety of musical tones, many aspects of which were completely controllable by the user. Overall system control was provided by real-time embedded software running on the ARM microprocessor. Waveform generation and synthesizer effects modules were designed in Verilog and implemented in custom logic using fixed-point digital signal processing techniques.

For those of you that enable cookies and java-script:

https://vk.com/nonamesynth
Официальное сообщество поддержки проекта создания синтезатора.
Official community (forum) to support a project to create a (hardware) synthesizer
vk ist the Russian equivalent to facebook.
Quite a few posts are in English. Interesting glance into the Russian Synth scene,
which even in soviet days was very active. Electronic instruments were rather rare and
usually you could only get one if you had very good connections or were a state-approved
musician. So some people started to build there own one-off instruments from whatever
they could lay their hands on. Parts were traded all across across the red-empire
and a project would require years to complete.
So I was told by a Russian my age whom I met in Munich some years ago and then started looking
into things closer.
Nowadays there is a very active community analog / digital community that often come out
with amazing instruments. I guess we all know Dmitry Sches (Diversion, Thorn) who is from
Minsk / Belarus or may have heard of Polivoks, Aelita etc.
If you were interested: http://www.ruskeys.net/eng/synths.php
Some of the old gear ist still functional and trades on the secondary market quite well.
There is a small company in Poland that is well known for selling refurbished analog
synths, it's called analogia.pl.
For current output: http://www.electronicbeats.net/the-feed ... now-about/

My favourite state-of-the-art Russian synth is: https://somasynths.com/lyra-organismic-synthesizer/

You all have a good time.

Hello you all,

I am currently working on music per se, so this has at first glance little to do with Flowstone.
I do believe, however, that it may be interesting to integrate the knowledge presented in the
articles below into a sequencer of sorts. Please note that I am not announcing anything of
that kind, but it is on my project agenda.

Why I am interested:

I'll get that module as a Christmas present for myself :-)

I wish you a pleasant and peaceful week-end. If I am not totally mistaken, tomorrow is the time
to light the first candle on the advent wreath.

The Mathematics of Music

Music is a field of study that has an obvious relationship to mathematics. Music is, to many people, a nonverbal form of communication, that reaches past the human intellect directly into the soul. However, music is not really created by mankind, but only discovered, manipulated and reorganized by mankind.
