Simple Gain Compensation thing
Hey I'd like to have an automated gain in a overdrive that will
copensate the drives gain knob. What I mean is when I turn the over drive to 2 I need a gain (volume only) knob before it hits the output to be -2, that ofcourse beeing interactive with the original drive know so I don't have to adjust the value all the time!
I'm sure that you can help me with this !

Seems my description is not clear, I mean use a overdrive but not have an icrease or decrese in level just a THD/ Distortion effect with no gain increase/degrease

Hi Wishx,
To get some help on this, you should really post up a schematic of what you have going.

this will be not that easy, because when you turn the amp value to 0 you hear nothing so -2 will not have the effect you want, so i would recommend to transfer values to db, you can find different transferfunctions in steph tfs ` knob examples here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=641&start=50
maybe it would be easier to have 2 knobs, one for drive and one for volume...
you can find infos on gainreduction here:

i would leave the vol inside to adjust the main vol but you can adjust the drive vol down while turning drive up like this:
hope this helps
