Ok, i get your whine, you did great stuff to help out the ruby beginners and gave them some superb out-of-your-box modules, but what still baffles me is that, if you are the ruby expert: What makes you afraid of the code box?
It should be a similar thing. You shuffle around and modify some data.
Only difference is that you do it per sample, instead of per list item, or whatever ruby gave you.
You even got a simpler c-derivate syntax to go with.

There are tons of examples and working modules similar to what you describe downloadable from the sm forum.
