make a 7 band eq or better splitter

Post by CoreStylerz »

There was a good freq. Splitter in sybthmaker wiki. But it was limited by 3 bands..
I would like to make a splitter like that but with more bands (7) or make a simple eq.
What's best practice for make stuff like that? Where to get started?

I've had a look to the eq cookbook, but ive not understand so much of it.

Any hint?
BTW.
It correct this?
To make an eq I need to separate (calculate) each band and then process filters like LP, HP, peak?
Need my support for app development, website or custom scripts?
PM me if you are interested.

Here is a 7 band splitter
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2236#p10448
However, if you are after an EQ I'd suggest using peaking filters instead.

Hi, I have looked at the paper you provided for making three structure filters, but I was not able to understand it... Could you please explain how to calculate where to put allpass filters? I even tried to build 12 band splitter provided inside paper, but for some reason it didn't work well (I had phasing issues)...

Yes, the math notation in that paper is a bit formal. I'll try to put together a (hopefully easier to digest) tutorial later.
