Easy rotation of Knobs

Is there an easier way of creating knobs than using animations with a bunch of cells?

Is there a way of maybe ruby calculating the rotation and applying it to a static PNG (with single cell) image?

You can use rotate prim to rotate parts of view. If I recall correctly Ruby contains similar command, so it should be possible there too
