There was a divide by zero problem in the AGC... fixed it by adding a Max.Gain value in the code

Interesting post, some great info in between the mayhem.
Thank you for the meter fixes, I have been having these problems also.
I've been involved in many aspects of audio since 1961, including broadcast (cable) audio.
AGC, peak limiting, volume limiting, compression, expansion, all are variations on a theme, none are perfect, but neither is life.
My experience is to get the program recorded as 'right' as possible, keep the 'fixes' to a minimum.

I had problems with this one.

dunno if it's the 'check for no infinity or NaN' ...

maybe one of the guru's here can help?!

Yup, me too.
There are several meters with that Ruby code, they are all useless.
They work when they want, other times, no dice.
It's hard to believe that a company would release software with these problems.
I wasted days of my time thinking that my computer was at fault.
Also, several 'tutorials' for beginners don't work as expected, if at all.
It took me more days to realize that it wasn't me, but the program.
Any help with this meter issue would be welcome.
