For Renoise, I saw a comment from 2012 that stated it would run 32-bit plugins in the 64-bit DAW. Are you sure it doesn't?

Mac:
No 32-bit bridging
Garageband
LogicPro X

PC:
No 32-bit bridging
MuLab

Built-in bridging
Mixcraft

Ableton live is the most popular DAW in the nowadays.

https://ask.audio/articles/the-top-11-most-popular-daws-you-voted-for

+ Almost 4% of the market use studio one. On paper, we miss about 27% of the market, but in practice, we loose most of the market because commercial success is depended on strong hype and positive feedbacks from users. And it's hard to get a serious attention from them without 64bit version (at least).

others.

Only Samplitude Pro X has a Bridge.

From Steinberg:
Cubase comes with a VST Bridge meant to make the transition to 64-bit systems easier, but the internal bridge cannot cope with some 3rd party 32-bit plug-ins and although Steinberg plug-ins are mostly bridged correctly, the outcome of bridging is pretty much system-dependent.

With the release of Adobe Audition CC, Audition is now a 64-bit program. Any plug-ins that were designed to work in a 32-bit environment must be upgraded to a 64-bit version or implemented using a bridge.

There are others ...

The way things are moving ... I'd say 64-bit is the one to look towards. I don't see us moving to a 16-bit OS :o

thanks for your replies!

@tulamide yes you are right renoise has a build in bridge! the vsts run in sandboxed modus when they are bridged, normally this shouldn't be any problem..

@RJ hollins about cubase, my own experiences (i mainly use cubase) is that versions before 7 had really bad bridges, vsts where running better with jbridge now i use cubase 8 and it runs perfectly with all of my 32 bit plugins (and i have really old ones) - also all of my FS vsts run without any issues..

i also updated the lists above, hopefully to be continued.. ;)
