IPad app like Mira for Max?

Post by Sean »

Any plans for an iPad app like Mira for Max?
I can see a lot of uses for wireless mapping to an iPads touch screen as a control surface....

There is basically no chance of porting to iPad for FS,
Mac would be first--
however we gotta ask the devs really nicely about the possibility of compiling
for Windows tablets(is it Android?-I don't really know)
All success

I think you misunderstood, Mira is a controller for Max- FS doesn't need to run or compile on ios, just take an input (over Bluetooth or wifi) from a FS 'app', so it would just be an external module for reading multitouch from the ipad with perhaps a FS GUI designer on the app (take a look at Mira for max in the App Store)

I'm surprised there is no direct input module for touchOSC, lemur or he like already, or ave I just missed it! Both can be configured to give a standard 'midi' output, but the resolution is much better using OSC direct,

You can "redirect" TouchOsc messages into FS using the "TouchOsc Bridge" available on hexler.net.

For now, other ways to make an ipad, phone, android-thingy whatever talk to FS need very complex extra work...
Try thinking bout php, ror, ajax for example...

You can use "RTP Midi" which is a free midi driver for windows.
It allows you to use the ipad and Touch osc to send midi controllers and connect to your pc across wifi. The set up is the same layout as network midi in mac.
Works great
