Quilcom Monochord

Post by Spogg »

The origins of the Monochord are attributed to Pythagoras, who made a single-string instrument to teach how tension and length would influence pitch. It has since evolved into many forms, often having multiple strings, to create a drone sound for ambient backgrounds and meditative purposes. Many modern Monochords have all strings tuned in unison, and many feature some strings which can be individually tuned. The Quilcom Monochord doesn’t aim to simulate a particular variant but is very configurable to cover many different configurations and tunings.
