CatCam

Post by Embedded »

Having recently moved house we installed a cat flap for our cat Jessie. Mysteriously overnight the cat bowls were being licked clean, a trait our fussy cat wasn't know for. So we decided at make a Spy Cam application using FlowStone to see if we could catch the culprit on film!

Using a webcam and the motion detection we were able to record the action on disk and identify that indeed an unidentified Black Cat bugler we coming in at night and steeling all of the food.

In order to use the FlowStone video stuff you will need to install the 3rd party Image Processing files from here:

Also on some Laptops the webcam ID is '1' not '0'

Re: CatCam Internal or IP CAM

Post by jjs »

Hi, i changed it a bit so you choose to use internal or IP CAM, also have 2 fsm with only internal cam or IP cam. Internal means the cam of your laptop or one thats directly via usb connected.
Seems to freeze in FS3, also there are less components possible in FS3free then in FS2free, 5000 against 25000.

Also made added a video player all in one program. Its nothing new to the forum, just merged 2 programs in one.
Also make a folder c:/VIDEOS on your drive were the video can be stored. It should only record when there is movement so it will not fill up your hard drive when nothing is a happening.

Have fun playing. :)
