Sources For Learning Basic Programming?

Post by NullARC »

I have had a long time interest in hobby robotics and I am
greatly interested in using Flowstone to program them.

I really have had no programming training. So, although Flowstone
is quite easy to use, I don't have enough basic programming knowledge
to know how to construct Flowstone programs properly. :?

I have been trying to "reverse engineer" provided Flowstone programs
to try to learn how they are made. However, the going is slow and it
probably isn't a very good way to learn how to program.

Some of the smaller examples I have been able to understand. I've gone
over Embedded's XBugBot program but with something that complex I have
a hard time understanding the concepts.

So my question is, is there a book or a website that someone could
direct me to that would help me learn the basics of programming
so that I will better understand how to use Flowstone?

Thanks everyone!

Well, since no one had any suggestions for resources for learning the basics of programming,
I did some research on my own.

I found a book entitled: Beginning Programming All-In-One Desk Reference For Dummies.

I've begun reading it and I think that it is quite good. I would recommend it to anyone who
would like to learn the basics of computer programming in an effort to learn how to best use Flowstone.
